London Brewers’ Market Round-up: November 2018

On the London Brewers’ Market blog, we are featuring a monthly round-up of upcoming and unmissable events for London’s beer drinkers introduced by Rebecca Pate of Brewing East. Here are her picks for what’s happening in Londontown.

As you pack away the Halloween decorations, remember that November is a month to be cherished and a deep breath before a frenzied Christmas season. If you’re the type of person who appreciates a wooly jumper or a cozy pair of socks, then make the most of the month before your social schedule goes into hyperdrive with year end festivities.

If you’re looking for an excuse to get out for a beer in the meanwhile, London’s breweries have you covered.

THE FIVE POINTS JUPA LAUNCH TOUR AT THE PEMBURY: Thursday, 1st November, 6pm-11pm. Hackney’s The Five Points Brewing Company are on tour to give drinkers a preview of their new core beer, JUPA, a juicy Pale Ale. They’ll be popping up at a number of venues across the UK and Ireland until the 9th November, but this London-based launch at The Pembury Tavern – their new taproom across from the brewery – is set to be a special one. The first 25 people who show up will get a free pint at each venue as well! The Pembury Tavern, 90 Amhurst Rd, E8 1JH. Free, more information here.

THE FIVE POINTS JUPA LAUNCH TOUR AT THE ROYAL ALBERT: Thursday, 1st November, 6pm-11pm. Another London-based date on The Five Points Brewing Company‘s JUPA Launch Tour. Be among the first 25 people at The Royal Albert and get a free pint of their new juicy Pale Ale! The Royal Albert, 460 New Cross Rd, SE14 6TJ. Free, more information here.

HACKNEY BREWERY X BARRIER BREWING UK TOUR: Thursday, 1st November, 5pm-11pm. The Hackney Brewery crew have been touring the UK with the guys from New York’s Barrier Brewing Co, but this is the only London date. Naturally, they’re at Mother Kelly’s in Bethnal Green and will be bringing along plenty of beers from both breweries, including their KRONK! DIPA collaboration. Mother Kelly’s, 251 Paradise Row, Bethnal Green, E2 9LE. Free, more information here.

THE AFFINITY 2ND BIRTHDAY WEEKEND: Friday, 2nd November at 4pm – Saturday, 3rd November at 11:00pm. Good things are promised for the big 2nd birthday festivities of Affinity Brew Co in Bermondsey, including the launch of their 2Woomba, an Imperial version of their raspberry and coconut stout (Toowoomba). Expect good food, cake and a killer line-up of their beers. Affinity Brew Co, Railway Arch 7, Almond Road, SE16 3LR. Free, more information here.

HALE OPEN BREWERY DAY: Saturday, 10th November from 10am-1pm. Head to Tottenham for Hale Brewing‘s open brewery day at Five Miles. It’s their first ever open day and they’re even including breakfast – ‘mash eggs’. Sounds good, right? They’re brewing out of a shipping container, so space is limited and you’ll have to reserve your place. See the brewery, meet the brewers and feed your hangover! Five Miles, 39B Markfield Rd, N15 4QA. Tickets are £10 and are available here.

WELL STREET PIZZA X FIVE POINTS: Wednesday, 21st November, 7:30pm-10:00pm. Busy as always, The Five Points Brewing Company have teamed up with pizza virtuosos, Well Street Pizza, for a tasting event. If neapolitan pizza and craft beer sound agreeable to you, get your ticket to sample a six course menu where pizza and beer will come together like delicious magic. Well Street Pizza, 184 Well Street, E9 6QT. Tickets are £30 and are available here.

BREW CON 2018: Saturday, 24th November, 11am-6pm. If you’re a home brewer or just interested in home brewing, then you can’t miss Brew Con 2018 at Oval Space. There’s plenty to get out of it, including live demos, BJCP tasting sessions an unbeatable line-up of industry speakers like beer writers Pete Brown and Melissa Cole and former Fuller’s Head Brewer, John Keeling. Tickets are a steal at £15 each, so hop to it! Oval Space, 29–32 The Oval, E2 9DT. Tickets are £15 and are available here.
