London Brewers’ Market Round-up: July 2018

On the London Brewers’ Market blog, we are featuring a monthly round-up of upcoming and unmissable events for London’s beer drinkers introduced by Rebecca Pate of Brewing East. Here are her picks for what’s happening in Londontown.

It’s certainly been a corker of a summer already and (at the time of writing this), England  are still in the World Cup, so anything feels possible! If the sunshine streak continues – and we certainly hope it does – is there anything better than drinking beer outside while basking in the sun? We think not.

Grab your sunnies, it’s going to be a great month in London.

OSM BAR LAUNCH PARTY: Thursday, 5th July, 5pm-8pm. Just a heads-up that the Old Spitalfields Market Bar will be hosting a launch party and you can get a free pint of The Five Points Brewing Company beer – that’s right, free! Just register on Eventbrite and turn up to admire this new space, a stripped-back social hub celebrating some of the best craft, small batch and East London drinks suppliers, including The Five Points. We know where we’ll be headed the next time we’re around Spitalfields Market. Old Spitalfields Market Bar, 107B Commercial Street, Old Spitalfields Market, E1 6BG. Free, more information here.

Those guys over at Affinity Brew Co aren’t ones to shy away from politics, so join them to protest Donald Trump’s UK visit this month on July 13th with a tasty beer made from, you guessed it, oranges. Blood oranges, to be exact. They’ve teamed up with Faversham friends, Boutilliers, to brew a beer each with the ingredient and will be launching them at their Bermondsey taproom (an orange and passion fruit saison from Boutilliers and a blood orange & cranberry saison from Affinity). As Wimbledon unfolds, those charmers at Hackney Brewery have teamed up with Brick Lane’s Kill The Cat to bring you three beers that, while delicious in their own right, blend together to recreate a very well-known summer tipple. The three beers are a lemon shandy (‘Game’) collaboration with Square Root Soda, an orange & strawberry IPA (‘Set’) and a cucumber & mint witbier (‘Match’). Now you get it.
