Founded by director Ed Mason and head brewer Greg Hobbs, The Five Points became the first UK brewery to be a Living Wage Employer in January 2014.

40FT Brewery
40FT Brewery opened its doors on 1st May 2015 in a disused car park in Dalston, East London. CRATE Brewery
Born on the banks of the river River Lea in 2012 CRATE Brewery is firmly ensconced in London’s craft beer firmament. More recently their focus is on giving their growing team of brewers a free hand in the creation of their ‘Brewer’s Tap’ range of small batch one-off beers to amaze and delight old and new fans of CRATE Brewery.

Earth Ale Brewery
At Earth Ale Brewery, they focus on using foraged ingredients in their flavourful beers, producing creative beer that pairs perfectly with food at their regular dining events.Eco-friendly, Artisanal, Rural, Terroir, and Health–all these terms make up the acronym “EARTH” in the Balham brewery’s name. It’s definitely the season for their epic Oatmeal Stout, so don’t miss it at the Market!

Fuller’s
Fuller’s Griffin Brewery should need no introduction. This family-owned brewery nestled in the neighbourhood of Chiswick dates from 1828 and has been brewing ales and lagers throughout over 160 years. In the age of a brewing revival in The Big Smoke, Fuller’s remains relevant with a considered variety of beers that appeal to Londoners as well as the many people who visit the city.

Gipsy Hill Brewing Company
The masterminds behind Gipsy Hill Brewing Company focus on big flavour, creating unfilitered, unfined, natural beer. They keep their core range of brews under 5%, keeping them as “a conversational beer” for everyday occasions. Be sure to check out their spankin’ newly reopened pub, The Douglas Fir, near Crystal Palace for more great beers after the London Brewers’ Market.

Howling Hops
Howling Hops brew an ever changing range of characterful, uncompromising, and generously hopped beers with bags of flavour. The brewery originally began life in the basement of The Cock Tavern, a glorious pub known for great beer. Now brewing in Hackney Wick in a former warehouse space, Howling Hops is a destination among craft beer connoisseurs for their excellent beer as dispensed from the UK’s first dedicated tank bar.

Husk Brewing
Located in the hustle and bustle of East London, Husk is a small, independent brewery founded by homebrewers form the hospitality industry who could no longer fit their brewing in their one bedroom flat. Now based in Docklands, they are brewing with quality ingredients to create flavourful, balanced beer “for your chill time.” Their beers come in cask, keg and bottle conditioned ales.

Kew Brewery
Kew Brewery is an award-winning microbrewery less than a mile from, and inspired by, the world-famous gardens at Kew. They brew our great tasting beers sustainably, using only English malt and hops to keep their food miles down, with a few ‘botanical’ twists. “We’re on a mission to ‘re-hab’ English hops!” All their beers are unfined and vegan-friendly (except their chocolate milk stout). 5p from every pint of their beer sold is donated to the World Land Trust, saving rainforest and threatened habitats around the globe – each pint bought saves 21sq ft of rainforest!

Laine Brew Lab
Laine Brew Lab is an experimental, small batch brewery based at the People’s Park Tavern in Victoria Park, Hackney. The team behind Laine Brew Lab are hard at work producing an interesting series of outrageously good beer in cask, keg, and bottle. This is their first time at London Brewers’ Market, so pop by their stall for a taste of something new!

London Beer Lab
London Beer Lab was established in 2012 to offer brewing workshops to craft beer enthusiasts in London. Since inception, thousands have got to grips with mashing, sparging and hopping at their Brixton premises. Commercial brewing started in earnest summer 2015, rated in Untappd as one of the top 30 English breweries since early 2016 with further expansion plans afoot for early 2017 in Loughborough Junction. As the UK’s first open source brewery their recipes are on the label to help others recreate and experiment with. Vouchers for the workshops make excellent gifts, and will be available to buy on the day, or can otherwise be purchased online.

Old Hands
Old Hands is a range of ever changing new brews from the talented Twickenham Fine Ales, London’s oldest micro-brewery, founded in 2004. Old Hands have developed a wonderful range of exciting brews on keg, including a Coconut Porter, Rauch Bier and a Strawberry Saison, which have been tremendously well-received around many fine pubs in the capital.

Orbit Beers
Orbit Beers are based in wonderful Walworth, just south of Elephant & Castle, and specialise in European style beers, especially those hailing from the German tradition. Try their excellent kölsch (Nico) or altbier (Neu) and have a chat about how their beers are all named with musical references-appropriate for appearing alongside Independent Label Market! Keep an eye out for any of their White Label Series brews, which are special one-off batches that explore more experimental sides of brewing.

The Redchurch Brewery
Gary Ward started The Redchurch Brewery in his flat on Redchurch Street as a hobby when he was a solicitor. With his business savvy and passion for brewing, he quit his job and put everything on the line to get a railway arch for a brewery on Poyser Street. Six years later, and Redchurch has a second brewery in Harlow for a core range of ales, lagers, and stouts, and is still brewing in two arches on Poyser Street, using this original small site for barrel ageing, sours, and experimental beers, a project called Urban Farmhouse.

Redemption Brewing Company
Redemption Brewing Company has been brewing its popular beer in the heart of Tottenham since 2010. It is widely recognised as one of the founding fathers of today’s vibrant London brewing scene. Capacity has dramatically increased this year, with the expansion of a bespoke 30 barrel brew kit and launch of a purpose built Taproom overlooking the Brewhouse – perfect for enjoying a pint, while watching the brewers at work! The beer range now includes the eagerly anticipated Big Chief in keg, alongside a core cask range including Trinity (3%) light ale and Hopspur (4.5%) amber ale.

Sambrook’s Brewery
Sambrook’s Brewery was founded by Duncan Sambrook in Battersea in August 2008, making the brewery among the first in the new wave of craft brewers in London. Sambrook’s brew a range of uncompromising, flavoursome cask, keg and bottled beer with a focus on British led flavours in Battersea. Their flagship beer, popular on the taps of many pubs throughout London, is Wandle, named after their local river in Wandsworth.

Signature Brew
Like a lot of good ideas, the concept of Signature Brew was born in a pub when two cousins, tired of drinking mediocre overpriced lager in music venues decided change needed to be brought. In 2011, with a little help from some internationally renowned bands and musicians Sam and Tom started delivering on their commitment to get good beer into the hands of gig goers. Fast forward 5 years and their vision lives on through Signature Brews core range of music inspired beers and their regular collaborations.

Solvay Society
Solvay Society takes inspiration from the The Solvay Conferences that brought together the greatest minds in physics and chemistry in the heart of Brussels, leading to some of the most fundamental discoveries of our time. Founded in 2014 by homebrewers Roman, a physicist, and JP, an engineer, Solvay Society are interpreting Belgian style beers with a modern twist.

Southwark Brewing Co.
Founded by brewing industry veteran Peter Jackson, Southwark Brewing Co. are a cask-focused craft brewery along the Bermondsey Beer Mile, just by Tower Bridge. Southwark are bringing modern recipes to life in cask using a plethora of the finest ingredients, and their new brand Big Bear introduces key keg beers to their portfolio of brews.

Three Sods Brewery
Creating craft ale in the cosy confines of Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club, Three Sods Brewery pride themselves on staying true to real ale cask production and at the same time incorporating new age flavours and punchy, satisfying tastes. Made up of three friends who have been brewing lovely beers since January 2015, the gang are very much a part of the East London community–donating their spent grain to Stepney City Farm to feed their pigs and chickens. Pop into their tap room, the Workers Arms for a chat and a brew.

*UPDATE!*

We are thrilled to announce two special stalls joining us in the beer garden!

The first is a mini Mason & Company bar serving up some London Brewers’ Market favourites on rotation! The second is our friends at Cleaver & Keg who will provide some snackage in the form of meaty morsels to go alongside the brilliant beers on offer. The meat is 100% British sourced and aimed to be paired with beer, so pick up a packet or three to enjoy on the day or take some home to enjoy during the holidays!

We can’t wait to see you in the beer garden at Old Spitalfields Market! We’ll be alongside Independent Label Market, who will be providing some great tunes for the day. For beer drinkers, October brings the close of Oktoberfest celebrations and the season of highly divisive pumpkin beers. But if neither of these prospects takes your fancy, there are plenty of other events to satisfy your autumnal cravings.

You might feel pressure to bid adieu to sours and saisons in lieu of more warming styles, but whatever you’re drinking, we’ve put together a list of our pick of events across London this October:

On Saturday the 23 July 2016, the London Brewers’ Market was once again in full force, bringing 27 local breweries to the Old Spitalfields Market in East London. Drinkers survived unseasonably warm temperatures with a cold beer in hand, sampling a variety of examples and styles from breweries both familiar and new. It comes as no surprise that IPAs were prevalent, offering the perfect refreshing bitterness to temper the rising mercury as the afternoon progressed. Cans were king- from the new 360° designs to the 500ml tallboys- and there were some specific beers that were causing a buzz.

IMG_0329

Although impossible to sample everything proffered at the Brewers’ Market, I was earnest to discover the crème de la crème to ensure that even if you missed a beer on the day, you can keep your eyes peeled for it in the coming months.

We are bringing 27 of London’s finest breweries down for a brilliant session alongside Independent Label Market from 11am util 6:30pm in the historic East End marketplace.

The Five Points Brewing Company – Brewing since March 2013 in a Victorian railway arch underneath Hackney Downs Station, The Five Points has become well-known and highly regarded force beyond their East London environs for their full-flavoured, classic beer in keg, can, cask and bottle. In addition to their remarkable brews, top events, and colourful identity, The Five Points are also notable for being the first certified Living Wage accredited brewery in the UK.

Anspach & Hobday – Anspach & Hobday are making fantastic beers taking inspiration from traditional beer styles and newer influences from the craft beer movement. Partizan Brewing – Distinctive beers with equally distinctive and eye-catching labels, Partizan have been brewing in a Bermondsey railway arch since the end of 2012. Not ones to really stick to a core range, their artisan agglomeration of beers have been featured on the bar in craft beer hubs the world over, and you can go straight to the source at their brewery tap on most Saturdays–a highly recommended excursion. Look out for their cat, Adina!

Double Up! TWO London Brewers’ Markets for July

We are thrilled to be organising TWO London Brewers’ Market events in July, both of which are free entry! After a brilliant time at Field Day, we are keeping the London beer flowing at Hackney Summer Fete and Old Spitalfields Market.

Hackney Summer Fete 2016

Come and see us at Hackney Summer Fete on Saturday, the 9th of July, at St John at Hackney Church. This is a free outdoor event on the lovely grounds of the church located right by Hackney Central. The Fete starts at 12 noon and runs until 7pm, and we’ll have at least six breweries taking part from London in The Paddock behind the Church. There will be activities for all ages in The Village Green, plus lots of local food options in the shadow of the iconic St Augustine’s Tower!

London Brewers’ Market will be back at Old Spitalfields Market on Saturday, the 23rd of July, alongside the Independent Label Market. We are bringing 26 breweries along to share their beer and banter with you all from 11am until 6:30pm in the historic East End market.

The list of breweries for both markets will be available soon. Until then, save the dates and we’ll see you for a beer!

London Brewers’ Market at Field Day, 11-12 June

The London breweries who will be running their own stalls at Field Day are:

  • The Five Points Brewing Company
  • Howling Hops
  • One Mile End
  • Redemption Brewing Company
  • Partizan Brewing
  • Beavertown Brewery
  • Signature Brew
  • The Redchurch Brewery
  • Gipsy Hill Brewing Company
  • Hackney Brewery

With a great beer line-up as well as an incredible music line up, plus a top food line up from the likes of Street Feast and Venn Street Market, this Field Day is not one to miss. Be sure to get your tickets and come along on Saturday and Sunday, the 11th and 12th of June.
