London Brewers’ Market Event Round-up: February 2017

February is the month of love. ❤

Whether it’s love for a fellow human, love for a fuzzy friend, or love of beer – it all comes from the heart. In the name of St Valentine, we’re helping to spread the love this month with a bill of events that invite drinkers to gather and express their burning affection for great beer across the capital.

With so many great breweries in London, let us play Cupid and set you up with some attractive events…

ORBIT BEERS TAP TAKEOVER TUESDAYS AT THE SUN TAVERN: Every Tuesday in February, 12pm-12am. Orbit Beers are foraying into East London for The Sun Tavern‘s Tap Takeover Tuesdays. This means that all month, you can enjoy a range of fine beers from Orbit – two will be on permanently throughout February – and they’ll be going at £3 a pint every Tuesday. In true Orbit style, they’re hosting a BYOV (Bring your own Vinyl) night on Tuesday, February 7th to kick it all off. The team will be playing their personal all-time faves and encourage drinkers to get involved. Love – and music – will be in the air in Bethnal Green. The Sun Tavern, 441 Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 0AN. Free.

SIX NATIONS RUGBY AT BELLEVILLE BREWING: Saturday, February 4, 2.25pm-6pm (and ongoing). Rugby fan or not, the crew at Belleville Brewing Co are throwing open the doors to their taproom on Saturdays. That’s good news. They’ve also splashed out on a 65″ screen and will be broadcasting the Six Nations games on Saturdays. So, really, you can go for the rugby, go for the Six Nations bantz or just go for the beer – it’s going to be a lively environment and a good opportunity to check out great US-style beers that are coming out of South West London. Who knows, maybe you’ll be seduced by the rugby (after you finish that pint of beer – priorities!). Belleville Brewing Co. London, 36 Jaggard Way, SW12 8SG London. GIPSY HILL TUTORED TASTING AT MASON & CO: Saturday, February 4, 12pm-1:30pm. Join Gipsy Hill Brewing Company‘s head brewer, Simon Wood, on this special curated tour through their range at Mason & Company in Hackney Wick. This small tutored session includes a 1/3 pint of five of the Gipsy Hill range and will be limited to a group size of 20 people. These guys have gone from strength to strength with a revolving selection of seasonal beers in addition to their popular four-strong core range. Have a taste, a chat and even get 20% off Capish? brunch with your ticket (and we all know that true love is by way of the stomach). Mason & Company, 25 East Bay Lane, Here East, Hackney Wick, London E20 3BS. Tickets are £10 plus bf and can be purchased here.

BREWHEADZ MEET THE BREWER AND TAP TAKEOVERS: Sunday, February 5 from 2pm (Brewdog Camden) and Thursday, February 16 from 6pm (Brewdog Shoreditch). These four Italian friends will be showcasing their Brewheadz range of beers at Brewdog Camden and Brewdog Shoreditch this month. Hailing from the Lazio region in Italy, they began homebrewing in London and have moved on to a unit in Tottenham Hale. Focusing on superior ingredients, these guys aim to produce delicious beer, pure and simple. Are we in love yet? BrewDog Camden, 113 Bayham St, London NW1 0AG & Brewdog Shoreditch, 51-55 Bethnal Green Rd, London E1 6LA. Both events are free: https://www.facebook.com/BREWHEADZLondon/

HOPSWAP WITH FOURPURE: Tuesday, February 7, 8pm-11pm. What’s a Hop Swap, you ask? Well, everyone is welcome to come along and share or trade a rarity (or just something weird) from their personal beer collection in a friendly environment. This month, they’ve teamed up with Fourpure Brewing Co for the meet the brewer element and snacks will be provided from Soffle’s Pitta Chips. If that madness wasn’t enough, there’s a mystery trade raffle on the night, where one person will walk away with something worth gloating about. Laid-back vibes guaranteed in a great East London pub and sharing is definitely caring. The Cock Tavern, 23 Phoenix Road, E8 1EJ London. Free: https://www.facebook.com/events/776043065904907

MONDO MEET THE BREWER: Wednesday, February 8, 7pm-10pm. The lovely crew at We Brought Beer’s Clapham Junction branch are hosting their neighbours, Mondo Brewing Company, for a meet the brewer session. Mondo have been brewing for almost two years and are often stocked in the store, so it’s no surprise that they’d be selected as the first meet the brewer event of 2017. These evenings are always intimate and informative, so don’t miss out on a place to chat about Mondo’s colourful range – you’ll leave weak at the knees. We Brought Beer, 78 St John’s Hill, Clapham Junction, London SW11 1SF. REDEMPTION TAP TAKEOVER AT THE KING & CO: Thursday, February 9, 7pm-11pm. People have been buzzing over Redemption Brewing all over again since they made the move to a bigger unit in Tottenham – stalwarts of the London beer scene, these guys are back in business and churning out the solid beer that we’ve come to expect. Find out what all the fuss is about at The King & Co, where Redemption will be on hand to talk about beer and introduce you to some of their offerings, which will be pouring from the pub’s taps on cask and keg. Often called one of the nicest breweries in London, why not show these guys some big love. The King & Co, 100 Clapham Park Rd, London SW4 7BZ. You might leave with butterflies in your stomach. Husk Brewing, 58A Woolwich Road, E16 2AA London. Free: https://www.facebook.com/events/1633066590332863/
